Ohalei Torah Hosts Lecture, New Niggunim

Sparks Hakhel Song
Chabad.info presents a remix of the "Hakhel" song by the Sparks boys choir. The song was composed by Israel Edelson, and was first performed by the Tzivos Hashem choir in Yerusholaim, in the Hakhel year of 1988. Lev Leviev' Company Posts Record Losses
Africa-Israel Investments, an Israel-based real estate company, reported its fourth quarter and full year results for 2008, with full year revenue falling 45 percent to NIS 6 billion. The loss has been touted as the largest in the nation's history, largely due to sinking American real estate values, including the serious devaluation of the New York Times building. Controlling shareholder Lev Leviev told reporters, "There are years that are better, and there are years that are less good, but that's the business...."

Levaya of Mrs. Shifman A"H
The pain and sadness was evident on the faces of all present at the Levaya of Mrs. Libby Shifman A"H, a young mother of nine children who passed away following a sudden stroke. Hundreds of community members joined the Levaya as it passed through Tzfas this evening.

Amish Visit 770
The scene had the potential to be quite confusing, a group of men and woman who's dress reminds one of Chareidi Jews walking around Crown Heights, following a guided tour. The group was not comprised of Frum Jews, or Jews altogether, they were Dutch Amish from Amish County Philadelphia, and as part of their traditional dress they wear full beards, wide brimmed hats, and the women long skirts. "Yossi's Tank" Returns for the 11 Nissan
This Yud Alef Nissan, "Yossi's Tank" returns under the leadership of Rabbi Tzvi Marosov, with the assistance other 5th Grade teachers of Oholei Torah. For 18 years, since the passing of his talmid Yosef Yitzchok Halevi A"H, Rabbi Marosov has taken the 5th Grade to experience hands-on miftzoyim in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn after the Rebbe's Birthday Parade of Tanks. Last year alone, 3000 single matzos, hundreds of brochures in Russian and English, hundreds of people selling their chometz, plus a Tefillin Stand were done in Yossi's Zechus.

770 Being Built Near Moscow
Russia has officially joined the movement of Jewish communities around the world in building Synagogues, planned and constructed in the same architectural style of the 770 center of the worldwide Chabad Lubavitch movement in Brooklyn, New York. Soon, such a building will be completed in the town of Ramenskoye, in the Moscow Region. Yesterday, this 770 project has reached a new stage, with the completion of the buildings outer shell. Rabbi Yitzchak Kogan, who heads the Synagogue on Bolshaya Bronnaya in Moscow, is spearheading this massive undertaking  Photo Gallery

Daily Nasi Reminder
On Rosh Chodesh Nisan the Chanukas Habais of the Mishkan took place. For twelve days the Nessiim brought Korbanos for the Chanukas Hamizbeach. In memory of these korbanos, beginning Rosh Chodesh Nisan, and continuing through Nissan 13, we recite the pesukim describing the offerings made by the nesi'im of the 12 shevatim followed by the special Yechi Ratzon.

Unprecedented Halacha Campaign
For two converging reasons, the publishers are announcing an unprecedented campaign to disseminate the best-selling halachic book: "Zemonim". First, as announced on Israel National News and all major Jewish media, a new web-based program (www.mikvahcalendar.com) has recently been launched. This site, the initiative of a U.S.-based professional staff, led by Mrs. Rivkah Bloom (MCS, M.I.T.) is expected to ease observance of family law for millions of people. Rabbi Fishel Jacobs (Kfar Chabad), the author of Zemonim, escorted the halachic development of that site for years, and gave his haskomah for it.

Birchas Hachama Pamphlet in Russian
In accordance with a directive from the Rebbe from 5741/1981, Chabad Lubavitch in Kazakhstan has launched a campaign to encourage people to recite this special prayer. As part of the campaign, a pamphlet has been published in Russian explaining the meaning of Birchas Hachama and its relevant laws. The pamphlets will be distributed among the Jewish communities in Kazakhstan, along with matzos, as part of the many Pesach activities occurring around the country.

Show this important new brochure to any other Russian-speaking Jews that you know.

Gaza Abuse Claims Were Hearsay
Israel's military Advocate General has closed a probe into reports that soldiers taking part in Israel's recent offensive in the Gaza Strip intentionally killed civilians, after he found the claims 'were based on hearsay and not supported by specific personal knowledge.' 'It was found that once the claims were checked, they were not supported by the facts as determined by the investigation,' an Israel Defence Force (IDF) statement released this afternoon said.

Kinus for Israelis in 770
Last night a very moving event took place in 770, hundreds of Israelis from all over the New York City filled 770 in honor of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach's upcoming birthday. The Kinus, which is organized annually mostly for Mekuravim of the Temimim learning in 770, from their Mivtzoim routes, was a huge success. YG Prepares For Yud Alef Nisan
Over the past 2 months there have been many preparations taking place in Yeshiva Gedolah of Melbourne Australia in the lead up to Yud Alef Nisan. The daily Rambam Shiur at 7:40pm has been a major success with many of the talmidim sacrificing their short break to join in the learning. 'Pope's Visit Won't Stop us From Praying
Pope Benedict's visit to Israel in about a month and-a-half is already causing concern among those who fear that the strict security measures around the pontiff would prevent access to holy sites in Jerusalem. Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch has already approached the police on the matter and demanded that free access to the Wall and the Mount of Olives is maintained throughout the high-profile visit.

The Countdown Is Almost Over
The countdown to the completion of the Eshel Hachnosas Orchim building, is almost over with the recent completion of the facade. The building, situated on Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway, will host hundreds of guest rooms for the Rebbe's guests. Hopefully, the construction will be finished on time to open it's doors to the thousands of guests who come to spend Tishrei in 770.
